"Bank deposits in Greece have fallen by 70 billion euro ($86.3 billion) since the start of the crisis in 2009, the finance minister says.
Evangelos Venizelos said on Monday that only 16 billion euro of the funds withdrawn from Greek banks was sent abroad, mostly to the UK.
The rest was largely spent as families and businesses dug into their savings, or was hoarded by households preparing for the worst - a debt default or Greece's exit from the euro."
