''An outbreak of an obscure and fast-spreading decease – a pulmonary syndrome caused by hantavirus – was reported in the US Yosemite National Park. No specific cure for hantavirus being on record up to date, three people are already dead and around 8,000 guests are thought to be at risk of having contracted it during their stays in the park's tent cabins in June-August. According to USA Today and other sources, the threat actually hangs over 22,000 tourists including 2,500 foreign nationals from 40 countries, who visited the Yosemite National Park last summer. The disease is known to be rodent-born and, supposedly, can be passed from human to human. ''

'Massive bomb blast hits UN building in Nigeria'

"Witnesses reported seeing thick black smoke billowing from the building in Nigeria's capital Abuja at around 11am (BST).

It is believed that the blast was so large that it destroyed a wing of the UN office. Dozens are feared dead.

'Bomb Threat Evacuates Norquist Headquarters'

"A bomb threat against Americans for Tax Reform forced the evacuation of Grover Norquist’s staff from the group’s Washington, D.C., headquarters this morning. Police could not find any explosives, and the staff returned to work after a short while, according to talkingpointsmemo.com. 


Norquist, the founder and president of Americans for Tax Reform, is a high-profile figure in the D.C. debate over raising the country’s debt ceiling. More than 230 House Republicans have signed the group’s anti-tax pledge, and Norquist is a point man for the conservative view on the tax issue.

Controversy arose last week over a Washington Post editorial involving Norquist comments on the Bush tax cuts as part of the debt debate.

'Fear of anarchist threat grows as countdown to London 2012 begins'
