"Vestas, the Danish maker of wind turbines, will cut 2,335 jobs worldwide – and warns it could lay off a further 1,600 at its U.S. factories, which report to Portland headquarters, if a tax credit is not extended beyond this year.
Vestas faces tough competition from low-cost manufacturers in China, as well as subsidy cuts in Europe, which is embroiled in a financial crisis."
