"Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani offered to step down from his post in the wake of the worsening political situation in the country and agreed to appear before the Supreme Court of Pakistan on January 19 in a meeting of coalition partners called by the government at the Prime Minister’s House on Monday, according to media reports."
