"Spain will not be granted any leeway on the deficit targets agreed upon, said EU Economic Affairs Commissioner Olli Rehn in response to journalists' questions on Spanish PM Rajoy's statements over the country not being able to meet the targets. Madrid has announced that it will not bring the deficit/GDP ratio (currently at 5.8%) to 4.4% in 2012, as requested by Brussels."
