'UN: TAPI to ensure stable relations in Asia'

"The Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project will provide stability to political and economic ties in the Asian continent, Chief of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, Ambassador Miroslav Jenca said in an interview with the Neytralniy Turkmenistan newspaper.

He believes an intergovernmental agreement signed on TAPI in Ashgabat in December 2010 "showed a new quality and level of cooperation throughout the region.

"The length of TAPI could reach 17,000 kilometers, with a design capacity of 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. The pipeline will have a diameter of 56 inches (1,420 mm) and a working pressure of 100 atmospheres"...........READ MORE
