From The Atlantic 1982
By Seymour Hersh
''Seymour M. Hersh, a former correspondent for
The New York Times, won the Pulitzer Prize for international reporting
in 1970, for his revelation of the massacre at My Lai, in South Vietnam.
He is the winner of virtually every major journalism award, including
the George Polk Award, which he has received four times—more than any
other reporter in the history of the Polk Awards. His new book,
which will be published early next year by Summit, is a history of
Henry Kissinger's service as national security adviser to Richard Nixon,
during Nixon's first term. The article below is drawn from that book;
it deals with White House wiretapping activities and with the White
House internal-security unit known as the Plumbers. A second Atlantic article
by Mr. Hersh, to be published later this year, will be concerned with
one aspect of the Nixon-Kissinger foreign policy during Nixon's first
term.''

''Kissinger played key role in giving Diaoyutais to Japan''
From Phantom Report
''Asahi Shimbun, one of Japan’s five major newspapers, has offered evidence that the United States illegally handed over the disputed Senkaku (Diaoyu or Diaoyutai) islands over to Japanese administration along with Okinawa in 1972 by citing two declassified CIA reports, according to Duowei News, an outlet operated by overseas Chinese.
The two reports, regarding natural resources beneath the islands and the sovereignty dispute between China, Japan and Taiwan, were completed before the signing of Okinawa Reversion Agreement on Jun. 17, 1971. Though the Republic of China on Taiwan was at the time desperately trying to gain support from both the US and Japan to keep its seat at the United Nations, it was more aggressive than the People’s Republic of China to demand the return of the Diaoyutais, as Taiwan refers to the islands. The report indicated that the armed forces of the ROC might launch an amphibious assault against Japan if the sovereignty of the disputed islands was turned over to Tokyo.''

''1971 War: How Russia sank Nixon’s gunboat diplomacy''
From Russia & India Report
Washington, December 10, 1971, 10:51am.
''A week later the war is not going very well for Pakistan, as Indian armour scythes through East Pakistan and the Pakistan Air Force is blown out of the subcontinent’s sky. Meanwhile, the Pakistani military in the west is demoralised and on the verge of collapse as the Indian Army and Air Force attack round the clock.''
Nixon: Our desire is to save West Pakistan. That's all.
Kissinger: That's right. That is exactly right.
Nixon: All right. Keep those carriers moving now.
Kissinger: The carriers—everything is moving. Four Jordanian planes have already moved to Pakistan, 22 more are coming. We're talking to the Saudis, the Turks we've now found are willing to give five. So we're going to keep that moving until there's a settlement.
Nixon: Could you tell the Chinese it would be very helpful if they could move some forces or threaten to move some forces?
Kissinger: Absolutely.
Nixon: They've got to threaten or they've got to move, one of the two. You know what I mean?

''Did Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger Agree to Starve Americans for Israel in the Event of an Oil Crisis?''
From Voltaire.net
''Author Adam Bilzerian sheds light on a secret 1975 Memorandum of Understanding masterminded by Henry Kissinger, whereby the U.S. guaranteed all Israel’s oil needs in the event of a crisis, even at the risk of a domestic shortage. Renewed, in principle, every five years and theoretically still in force, its potential impact in the current Middle East context does not need to be explained. However, other examples of U.S. subservience to Israel’s interests abound, the latest one being the United States-Israel Enhanced Security Cooperation Act of 2012, which ensures Israel’s “qualitative military edge” over all of its neighbors at the expense of the U.S. taxpayer.''
''President Nixon seriously doubted whether Kissinger could be impartial on Middle East policy saying, “Anybody who is Jewish cannot handle” Middle Eastern policy. He was proven right in 1973 when Kissinger purposefully withheld news of Israel’s attack on Egypt and Syria during the Yom Kippur War for three and a half hours so Nixon would not intervene in the conflict. Kissinger then tried to cover up his treason by telling Nixon’s Chief of Staff to lie to the media and say that Nixon was informed immediately after the attack. To gain greater insight into the 1973 War, read "What Really Happened in the ’Yom Kippur’ War?," by Israel Shamir, Counterpunch, February 12, 2012.]''

''Watergate Lies Multiplied''
From Veterans News Now
''As you might expect, our press in the Watergate episode was not the great knight in shining armor that they would have us believe they were, rather, they were the same old blackguards that are currently covering our current presidential race as if the American people have actually been presented with legitimate choices. As it turns out, almost everything they have told us about Watergate is about 180 degrees from what actually happened. For a good introduction to the real story, I recommend two recent contributions by Charles A. Burris on LewRockwell.com, his article “Watergate Plus Forty” and his LRC Blog entry “Russ Baker and Jim Hougan on Watergate.''

PetroDollar: "Gulf capitalism''
Nixon was fighting Watergate at the time this all happened, quite the diversion don't you think? Kissinger was basically running the country and as we know, Kissinger is/was a Rockefeller boy.......follow the money
Op-Ed From The News Pakistan
''The price of a barrel of standard Saudi Arabian crude oil rose from $2.59 on January 1, 1973, to $11.65 on January 1, 1974. This sudden groundswell of “petrodollars” assigned a pivotal role to the Gulf in the global economy. Not just because of oil but also because the way petrodollars were utilised in global financial circuit.
“Petrodollar flows from the Gulf, particularly from Saudi Arabia, played a critical role in strengthening both the financialisation of the system as a whole and the specific role of the United States as the dominant power,” Hanieh says. There are two particular components to this role. First, “much of the Gulf petrodollars flowed into North American and European banks (often operating in Euromarkets) where they were recycled as loans to multinational companies, governments, and other borrowers.” Kuwait provides an excellent example of how these petrodollar flows helped to consolidate the trends of financialisation. As oil prices increased, assets of Kuwaiti commercial banks tripled from 1971 to 1977. The massive amounts of funds accumulated by Kuwaiti banks were redirected into international capital markets through “consortium banks”: joint partnerships between Kuwaiti banks and large foreign banks. From 1973 to 1977, $107 billion of OPEC reserves flowed into Euromarkets, constituting over 10 percent of the market’s total dollar-dominated assets. Over 40 percent of total OPEC reserve assets were held as Eurodollars from 1976 to 1984, a striking indication of the importance of the market for the oil exporting countries.''

''Henry Kissinger Proposed to 'Destroy' the U.S.''
From Activist Post
''President Barak Obama and his predecessor George W. Bush have both made amply clear that the war on terror includes any persons, groups or states that give material or financial assistance to terrorist organizations. Anyone doubting that Dr. Kissinger was not cognizant, in 2001, that the Al Qaeda network had been founded and funded by his own government, should recall that his protégé, National Security Advisor under President Carter, Zbigniew Brzezinski, was famously photographed in Pakistan in the early 1980s eyeing the barrel of a gun that the US government had supplied to Al Qaeda and to its leader who was standing in the photo beside him – Osama bin Laden. Though Dr. Kissinger was out of office at that time, could he have retained his credentials as perennial advisor to American Presidents without maintaining his cognizance of such complex events?''

''Sadat’s War on Israel: A heroic or a Collusive Act''
.....follow the oil money.....
From Veterans Today
By Dr. Ashraf Ezzat
"According to one of the most controversial articles that has been circulating the web since last February, president Sadat got into conspiracy with the Israelis, betrayed his ally Syria, condemned the Syrian army to destruction and Damascus to bombardment, allowed General Sharon’s tanks to cross without hindrance to the western bank of the Suez Canal, and actually planned a defeat of the Egyptian troops in the October War 1973.

- The author of that unsubstantiated article talks of some secret file, written by the Soviet Ambassador in Cairo at the early 1970s, Vladimir M. Vinogradov, apparently a draft for a memorandum addressed to the Soviet politbureau, describes the 1973 October War as a collusive enterprise between US, Egyptian and Israeli leaders and orchestrated by Henry Kissinger.

''Nixon, Kissinger and the New World Order: A Revisionist History''
From Martin Frost
By Will Banyan
"Despite the enormous controversies that he generated while in office, from the secret bombing of Cambodia to his demise over the Watergate scandal, the role of President Richard M. Nixon (1913-1994) and his ill-fated Administration remains one the more neglected periods in the study of New World Order history. Gary Allen published a number of books in the early 1970s that purported to reveal Nixon’s complicity in the world government conspiracy. Reflecting the John Birch Society’s ongoing animosity towards Nixon – which stemmed from Nixon’s attack on the Society in the1960s after they had attacked Eisenhower – Allen found much that was sinister about Nixon including his courting of the Communist world, his “socialist” domestic economic policy, brief CFR membership and appointment of “radical Leftist” and Nelson Rockefeller protégé, Dr Henry Kissinger, as his National Security Adviser.3 Nixon, he concluded, was “in league with the Eastern Liberal Establishment Insiders” and had accepted their goal of “convergence with Communism in a world superstate."

F William Engdahl: ''Why Iran's oil bourse can't break the buck"
this article is from 2006.......6yrs ago!!
From Asia Times Online
Some background considerations
"That argument fails to convince for a number of reasons. First, in the case of at least one of the oil-bourse theorists, the argument is based on a misunderstanding of the process I described in my book, A Century of War, regarding the creation in 1974 of "petrodollar recycling", a process with which then-US secretary of state Henry Kissinger was deeply involved, in the wake of the 400% oil-price hike orchestrated by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
The US dollar then did not become a "petrodollar", although Kissinger spoke about the process of "recycling petrodollars". What he was referring to was the initiation of a new phase of US global hegemony in which the petrodollar export earnings of OPEC oil lands would be recycled into the hands of the major New York and London banks and re-lent in the form of US dollar loans to oil-deficit countries such as Brazil and Argentina, creating what soon came to be known as the Latin American debt crisis."

a must follow blog..............From NSA Archive Unredacted
"Updated for Sunshine Week 2012. An oldie but a goodie. I wonder if President Obama is beginning to feel a bit like Dr. Kissinger. At any rate, a “meta-tribute” to the power of FOIA.
In 1975 Secretary of State Henry Kissinger told the Turkish Foreign Minister, “Before the Freedom of Information Act, I used to say at meetings, ‘The illegal we do immediately; the unconstitutional takes a little longer.’ [laughter] But since the Freedom of Information Act, I’m afraid to say things like that.”
He then explained how he would facilitate the illegal circumvention of a Congressional arms embargo."

'The Origins of Oil - falsely defined in 1892'
"Col Fletcher Prouty explains how oil was falsely classified a "fossil fuel" in 1892 and how that deception was advanced further in the 70's by Kissinger and Rockefeller. Prouty also explains that Nixon/Kissinger/Rockefeller were seeking a 'world oil price'. That effort created what many now call the "Petrodollar" and the impact of that mistake is playing out still today across the planet. Both Saddam Hussein and Libya's Ghadafi were stopped (murdered) when they attempted to sell oil in 1) Euros or 2) Dinars."

''Henry Kissinger, China and Third Indo-China War''
"The much awaited book, On China, written by scholar diplomat Henry Kissinger, not only makes fascinating reading, it is an invaluable reference material for students of international relations. From July 1971, when Kissinger made his first secret visit to China, he has maintained excellent equations with successive generations of Chinese leaders. He views contemporary history of China as a continuation of the past and describes the rationale behind Chinese thinking, diplomacy, strategy and negotiations."
