From Mathaba
''One of the rarest occasions when Hamad Bin Jassim Al Thani, the current
prime minister of Qatar, was seen nervous, was on the 9th of March 2004
in the famous British think-tank Chatham House; when he answered my
question about the contradictory presence of both Al Qaida and the US
military bases in his country. Hamad denied any presence of any
terrorist groups in Qatar, and showed a full engagement of his
government in the war against terrorism. I was congratulated for my
question by several politicians from the Gulf countries including the
current Foreign Minister of Bahrain who was in 2004 Ambassador in
London.''

''Libya Fiasco Exposes Chain of Incompetent Generals In Charge At the Pentagon''
From All Africa Via 'There are no Sunglasses'
''The extramarital affair cited for the resignation of CIA chief Gen Petraeus is insignificant by far compared to his belonging to a section of US military and intelligence elite pursuing a complex right-wing global agenda.
Carter Ham has been removed as head of the US Africa Command (AFRICOM). General Petraeus resigned from the CIA on November 9. Rear Adm. Charles M. Gaouette was reassigned on October 26 as the commander of the USS John C. Stennis strike group. These three changes at the top of the US military establishment are all related to the failed NATO intervention in North Africa and the subsequent war and killings that have been unleashed by militias in Libya, especially in Benghazi.''

Pepe Escobar: ''Skyfall, starring David Petraeus''
From Asia Times Online
''David Petraeus was more of a PR genius than a samurai to begin with. His cinematic model would be Captain Willard as played by Martin Sheen in Coppola's Apocalypse Now; the warrior intellectual. Petraeus, who for quite a while actively positioned himself as a possible presidential candidate in 2012, was clever enough to sell to US public opinion - and gullible mainstream media - the notion that he was a winner in both Iraq and Afghanistan. These are two monumental fallacies.''

From The Telegraph
The Wall Street Journal said the consulate was being used as a CIA operation, adding that of the 30 American officials evacuated from Benghazi following the assault, just seven worked for the State Department.''

''President Barack Obama's administration has faced a storm of pre-election
questions about why there was not more security at the US consulate where
four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed on September
11.

''Benghazi Backfire: Was Obama Arming Jihadists?''
From The New American

Ambassador Stevens was one of four Americans killed in the September 11 terrorist attack, along with embassy information officer Sean Smith and former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glenn Doherty.''

''Who pocketed Gaddafi’s billions?''
From Voice of Russia via Phantom Report
''However, the sum which Gaddafi and his associates had in bank accounts, and which the West, in fact, has stolen – $ 150 bln – might have been enough to reconstruct the Libyan infrastructure after the damage caused by the bombs – if not fully, then, at least, partially. But now, that money has disappeared. Why and where? Here is what Anatoly Egorin says:
“The West most likely decided right after the very start of the anti-Gaddafi rebellion in Libya to do whatever possible to prevent Gaddafi from staying in power. His and his associates’ bank accounts were immediately frozen. Or, it would be probably better to say that it was only officially announced that they were frozen, but in reality they were stolen. Nobody can say for sure precisely who stole this money and where it is now. There is only some vague information that it was allegedly pocketed by the bankers themselves and that these bankers allegedly tried to launder this money in offshore zones. Attempts to find this money are now under way, but I doubt that it will ever be found.''

''Benghazi and Tripoli Fight Over Oil Encouraged By Western Companies''
From Mathaba
''The Ambassador Stevens himself was en route to Benghazi as part of a U.S. operation on behalf of U.S. oil companies, for secretive meetings there to muscle in on Benghazi given that it had become apparent that the split with Tripoli was fully underway.
These liberation movement actions the U.S. media wrongly terms "terrorism" instead of labelling the massacres of one hundred thousand Libyans and countless other Africans and the destruction of their wealth and independence as terrorism.''

Pepe Escobar: ''US could drone Libya to death''
From RT.com
Pepe Escobar: "Brother Obama, where art thou?''
From Asia Times
''Libya is now militia hell - from neighborhood-watch outfits to mini-armies. They won't disarm. They refuse to be part of government security forces because their logic is tribal. They're fighting one another. No weak central government in car-bomb-infested Tripoli will rein them in.
Another way to put it is that "liberated" Libya is now warlord country. Home of vendettas in the desert and tribal pogroms against other tribes - and even whole towns.''

''Putin opens Benghazi door for Obama''
From Asia Times
By MK Bhadrakumar
''Putin's statement on Thursday came in the nature of his reaction to the terrorist attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya, and the killing of the American ambassador. Without doubt, it was a structured statement - albeit couched as ex tempore remarks to the media - that amounts to a dramatic call for Russia and the West to jointly mould the Arab Spring in the right direction. ''Embassy Killings in Libya, the Stench of CIA/Mossad ''False Flag''
From Veterans Today
By Gordon Duff
''First of all as to the “film” or whatever. As news managed to get past the “controllers,” it became obvious that the “Israeli” director never existed and the film had been financed by a group out of Las Vegas in the casino business tied directly to the Romney campaign.
This we know. You will see no reporting of this although the security around those funding the film and the quick “pounce” Romney made on Obama are enough to spark curiosity, if such a thing existed.''

''Ambitions of France: Installation of Military Base in Libya For Recolonization?''
From StratRisks
''As in Iraq, we are going to divide the country: Useful areas of Libya will be secured but the rest of the country will be delivered to instability. It is spectacular to see how the Western powers want to print a situation of permanent war in Libya. For a year, information from the installation of a military base in the country western North Africa, is broadcast repeatedly and knowingly. And by dint of repeating things, we finally admit as stringent as they are. Because they arrived on NATO tanks, so indebted, the new Libyan leaders were persuaded by the possibility of a military base on their soil without worrying about the reaction of people and immediate neighbors including Algeria with which their countries sharing nearly a thousand kilometers of borders.''

''Human rights disaster unfolding in Libya''
From URUKNET
''Nine months after the U.S./NATO-led overthrow of the Muammar Gaddafi government in Libya, the country remains entrenched in violence and disorder; human rights abuses are rampant.
In fact, according to Nasser al-Hawary of the Libyan Observatory for Human Rights, "The human rights situation in Libya now is far worse than under the late dictator Muammar Gaddafi." (Inter Press Service, July 14) This statement is telling, especially given that its source is a political opponent of the former government.''

''Washington's Man in Tripoli''
From Steve Lendman Blog
''Libya gives Washington another beachhead for greater African adventurism. Unspeakable crimes of war and against humanity were committed establishing it.
Jabril's now its main man. He got his marching orders. He's expected to deliver. Otherwise another pro-Western hack will replace him.''

''Libya in Chaos''
From National Interest
''The mosaic of militias is but one of Libya’s problems. Another is the East-West divide between Cyrenaica (Libya east of Sirte) and Tripolitania, regions with a troubled past. During the reign of King Idris al-Sanussi, whom Qaddafi ousted in 1969, Cyrenaica was a privileged place. It was the seat of the monarchy and the beneficiary of privileged access to investments and political power. The region was associated with the iconic Omar Mukhtar, who was born in a village near the eastern city of Tobruk and led the resistance to Italian colonization from 1912 until he was hanged in 1931. And between 1951–1963, it enjoyed substantial autonomy.''
