''Western banks ''reaping billions from Colombian cocaine trade''

From The Guardian

''The vast profits made from drug production and trafficking are overwhelmingly reaped in rich "consuming" countries – principally across Europe and in the US – rather than war-torn "producing" nations such as Colombia and Mexico, new research has revealed. And its authors claim that financial regulators in the west are reluctant to go after western banks in pursuit of the massive amount of drug money being laundered through their systems.''

''For decades Western powers specially the United States and of course, Moscow as the capital of the former Soviet Union supported criminal dictatorships for reasons that has nothing to do with the rights and benefits of the citizens of these countries but their own selfish and criminal interests.

The United States for and on behalf of Israel always supported Arab dictatorships as a way to provide security and safety for Israel and supported regimes the likes of Mubarak and Ben Ali under the guise of “law and order regimes, ”, first as Anti-Communists and later on as anti-Islamists. It gave material support to Saddam Hussein from the day he came to power in 68 to his 8 years war against Iran, all the way to his invasion of Kuwait and overlooked his killing fields in Halabja and all over Iraq setting the stage for Iraq as a failed state.''

''Pentagon's blueprint for full-fledged cyberwar''

From Strategic Culture

''The wheels of the war machine are ever turning inside the Pentagon, but the Defense Department’s latest endeavor won’t involve fighter jets and armored tanks. The DoD is putting aside billions to enhance its cyberwar capabilities.

The Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, DARPA, is turning towards the private sector and America’s next generation of computer wiz-kids to recruit forces for its next war. A report released Thursday by the Washington Post reveals that DARPA is looking to invest $1.54 billion during the next five years to up its online abilities, with $110 million going directly to a program dubbed Plan X, but unlike before it won’t be budgeted necessarily for thwarting acts of cyberterrorism. Instead the Pentagon is itching to ensure that America can carry out an offensive cyberwar on other nations rather than just readying the US to defend itself against a similar assault from abroad.''

TFMR Podcast #22 - John Butler, author of "The Golden Revolution"

From Turd Ferguson Metals Report

''Of all the podcasts I've recorded, this is certainly one of the most important.

Our pal, Ned Naylor-Leyland, introduced me to John Butler a few weeks ago. I'm grateful that he did because John's new book, "The Golden Revolution", is the most important book that I've read in quite some time. At just 200 pages, the book neatly summarizes the history of global sound money, the circumstances surrounding the exit of the previous gold standard and the likely events that will effect and implement the next, global gold standard. Read this book and you will begin to understand how and why this new gold standard is inevitable.''

''Western Capitalist Model Not Working In India''

From The Link

''The immediate cause of the Rupee’s slide and the rise of petrol prices is that India has to pay for its oil in dollars. India could have easily secured its oil supply from Iran and paid in Rupees instead of dollars. However, because of the American monopoly on the sale of oil and America twisting India’s arm regarding maintaining cordial relations with Iran, it will not allow India to buy the oil in Rupees instead of dollars and will not allow India to buy more oil from Iran, its time-tested friend.

Under the western capitalist model of development, economic growth has only served the interests of a very small elite rather than the masses. This model of development has led to concentration of wealth in the hands of the few at the expense of the many.''

From The Telegraph

Lending to banks in the eurozone fell $364bn or 5.9pc, with drastic reductions of 9.8pc in Italy and 8.7pc in Spain.

The BIS's quarterly report said the decline in lending was "largely driven by banks headquatered in the euro area facing pressures to reduce their leverage.''

Another WAR--Honduras: ''Which Side Is the US On?''

yippee!!!!..............another WAR..........From The Nation

''In some ways, it was just one more bloody episode in a blood-soaked country. In the early hours of the morning on May 11, a group of indigenous people traveling by canoe on a river in the northeast Mosquitia region of Honduras came under helicopter fire. When the shooting was over, at least four persons lay dead, including, by some accounts, two pregnant women. In Honduras, such grisly violence is no longer out of the ordinary. But what this incident threw into stark relief was the powerful role the United States is playing in a Honduran war.

US officials maintain that the Drug Enforcement Administration commandos on board the helicopters did not fire their weapons that morning; Honduran policemen pulled the triggers. But no one disputes that US forces were heavily involved in the raid, and that the helicopters were owned by the US State Department.''

The United States has, in fact, been quietly escalating its military presence in Honduras, pouring police and military funding into the regime of President Porfirio Lobo in the name of fighting drugs. The DEA is using counterinsurgency methods developed in Iraq against drug traffickers in Honduras, deploying squads of commandos with US military Special Forces backgrounds to work closely with the Honduran police and military.

41.6%-''The Real Unemployment Rate''

From New American

''The nominal unemployment rate is still high, but the real jaw-dropping fact is the number of working-age Americans who are not working. Today that is 100,000,000 Americans out of a total population of about 310,000,000. Demographically, about 80,000,000 Americans are minors and about 40,000,000 are age 65 or older. That leaves approximately 190,000,000 Americans who are adults of working age. About half of those do not have a full-time job.

''When those “Not in the labor force” are adding to those “Unemployed,” then those who are not working is growing: 99.5 million in April 2011, 100.3 million in February 2012, 100.5 million in March 2012, and 100.9 million in April 2012. When counting both those “Not in the labor force” (though in the age in which most Americans work) and “Unemployed” as a single group, then those who are not working, but are in the age group in which Americans normally work, has remained steady and high: 41.6 percent in April 2011, 41.5 percent in February 2012, 41.5 percent in March 2012, and 41.6 percent in April 2012.

All of this strongly suggests that large numbers of Americans want and need more income and that they are looking for jobs. And yet the 42 percent of Americans who are of working age are not working. Despite trillions of dollars spent on “shovel-ready” jobs, the jobs are conspicuous by their absence.''

It's hard to look furious when you're holding balloons, but somehow she managed it. There's a lot of anger in the crowd this year – a great wall of noise met each delegate as they swooped up the hotel drive. In the past 30 years, though, there has been a rapid growth of all kinds of initiatives in the social economy. Confidence was lost in the centralised state-based alternatives, particularly after 1989. ''The Disease is our Monetary System''

From Market Oracle
By Rudy Avizius

'Now there are 3 ways that money can be placed into circulation: it can be GIFTED, it can be SPENT, or it can be BORROWED.'

If the government were to simply give people printed money, it would be GIFTED into circulation. Since this “free money” provides no incentive to produce anything , there is no increase in production. The money supply increases, but not the number of produced goods or services, which ultimately results in inflation.

If the money is SPENT into circulation, it is used to pay for a goods or service that have been produced. The creation of these goods or services represents the creation of wealth. Therefore this created money is a payment for wealth that has been produced. This also increases the money supply, but since a matching amount goods or services were also created, this does not result in inflation.  This money is then “wealth based” making it is a representation of wealth that has been created and therefore has  no debt or interest burden associated with it.

If the money is BORROWED into existence as it is done in our current “debt based” monetary system, the money is created out of thin air by the banks using the fractional reserve lending system. This money is then a representation of debt and has a debt and interest burden associated with it.

The way money is brought into circulation is at the very heart of our problems. It turns out that in our “debt based” monetary system, our entire money supply (except for coins) is created when a loan is taken out. Once the loan is repaid, the money is removed from circulation.  This system unfortunately has a fatal flaw that guarantees its ultimate collapse.''

''THE US HAS ALREADY GONE BANKRUPT TWICE IN THE LAST CENTURY''

From GoldSeek
By Jeff Berwick

''It is our view that the modern USSA needs to be looked at in terms of its regression (not progress) since the Federal Reserve was put into place in 1913 and income tax was introduced. Less than two decades later and the US Government was already bankrupt. The only way it could salvage itself in 1933 was to confiscate much of the real wealth(gold coins and bullion) of its citizenry and devalue the dollar. This was bankruptcy #1.

After World War II, two facts led to it’s predominance in the global economy. The USSA was the only modern, industrial economy to survive intact and the establishment of the Bretton woods system that positioned the USD as the world reserve currency. This position was abused by the cynical political class and their wealth was squandered throughout the 1960s with the unnecessary war in Vietnam and the institution of the “Great Society” welfare state programs. By 1971, the US Government was again bankrupt.

This time, on August 15, 1971, Richard Nixon reneged on the promise to exchange the US dollar for gold. The world went into shock. For a period of time the US dollar barely traded on international markets. In Germany, where they have experience with hyperinflation, US dollars were not accepted by any currency exchange shop for a number of weeks as people around the world threw up their arms in anger. But... what could they do? Nothing. And what were the viable alternatives at the time? There were none... so, after a few weeks, people just continued to use the now pure fiat dollars.''

So, take another home out of the however-many-millions there are in the shadow inventory. It's off to the next one.

But then the bank finds out there is a homeowners association or condo association past due amount. In each state it is different, but in Florida, it's a nightmare. A safe harbor rule under a legal statute declares the first-lien holder can pay the lesser of either the past 12 months in assessments or 1% of the original principal balance on the home.

So, if a homeowner is paying $250 per month in HOA fees for a home that originally cost $140,000, that would be roughly $1,400 owed to the association as 1% of the original principal balance, opposed to the $3,000 in past due fees.''
