As the nation’s attorneys general get closer to a reaching a deal with banks over mortgage and foreclosure problems it’s becoming clear that the investigation into the matter was ineffective and lenders will be able to walk away from the matter by writing a big check.
When the nation’s 50 state attorneys general banded together in October and announced a collective investigation into improper foreclosures and a review the past and present mortgage service practices it seemed mortgage lenders were in for a tough legal battle against a fervent group of AGs looking to do right by the law and homeowners".............READ MORE
