begin with. His cinematic model would be Captain
Willard as played by Martin Sheen in Coppola's
Apocalypse Now; the warrior intellectual.
Petraeus, who for quite a while actively
positioned himself as a possible presidential
candidate in 2012, was clever enough to sell to US
public opinion - and gullible mainstream media -
the notion that he was a winner in both Iraq and
Afghanistan. These are two monumental fallacies.''
