"Lockheed Martin (LMT) said Wednesday it has been awarded a $2 billion multi-year contract by the National Science Foundation related to the US Antarctic Program. The $2 billion contract value will come into fruition if all options are exercised, the defense contractor said.
The terms of the contract requires Lockheed Martin to operate and maintain support infrastructure for the US Antarctic Program, which enables universities and federal agencies to conduct research in the region."
