''Finance Minister Vítor
Gaspar acknowledged in Lisbon on Tuesday (November 6) that it will take
“decades” for the country to fully reduce its public deficit and ensure a
“prudent budgetary position”.
The minister also revealed,
at a hearing before the parliamentary committee of troika’s budgetary
assistance programme, that the IMF and the World Bank were close to
concluding an evaluation of further spending cuts.''
